I became a therapist after experiencing the profound impact of my own healing journey. Seeing the transformation in my life, I knew I wanted to support others in living in alignment with their truest selves.

My path wasn’t linear. After college, I pursued law school, believing it was what I was “supposed” to do. But the long hours and disinterest led to panic attacks—my body’s way of telling me I was on the wrong path. A year in, I made the terrifying yet necessary decision to step into the unknown.

Leaving law school led me to community mental health work in San Francisco, where I felt a deeper sense of purpose. Alongside my work, I immersed myself in personal growth—yoga, mindfulness, women’s circles, and transpersonal psychology, eventually earning my master’s in counseling psychology. In 2020, I followed another calling, leaving the Bay Area for a new adventure in Denver.

In 2024, I rebranded both personally and professionally, evolving from Elizabeth Sklar Gilbert (Liz Gilbert) to Frankie Ellie Sklar. Frankie had been a longtime nickname, and embracing it full time feels like home.

As a therapist, I help clients access their deep inner knowing and bring their lives into greater alignment. I focus on boundaries, communication, and nervous system regulation, supporting those who feel “boxed in” and are ready to step into a freer, more authentic life. My work blends therapy and coaching, and with couples and families, I create space for open, respectful communication that strengthens connection.
